FAQs

I really want results - how intense is the program?

Intensive therapy blocks are intended to be intense.  Over a short period, we really target specific goals, then design exercises and program to build the skills required to achieve them. Instead of chipping away for weeks or months, we see accelerated progress in just weeks. This is hard work! You might find your child is very tired, has sore muscles, needs extra snacks and nutrition or is very thirsty.  Just imagine yourself in the middle of a gym challenge- where you are getting pushed out of your comfort zone day after day!

We can help with recovery by including magnesium hydrotherapy as part of your child’s program; this is amazing for building muscle strength while also assisting the body to recover from the exercises they have done on land.

If you are frustrated with small gains over long periods of time, join a BOOSTA+ intensive therapy block and see what is possible.

Can my child attend a session with a grandparent or carer?

Yes, we love to have your support team bring your child! It is often motivating for kids to have a different cheer squad and we are always open to sharing with your team how they can apply strategies and techniques at home or in other environments to further your child’s learning and progress.

Is the clinic wheelchair accessible?

Yes- we reserve the car space directly in front of the house for wheelchair use. There is a flat walk to the ground floor clinic. Please let us know if you would like assistance upon arrival and we will be happy to help.

Where can I park?

There are multiple car spaces located at the front of the studio on street parking. The studio is on the ground floor next to the magnesium pool. You will see two therapy rooms and an administration area for checking in.

What if my child is sick?

Please contact the office and give 24 hours notice if your child is starting to become unwell.

How can I find out more about BOOSTA+ Intensive Therapy Blocks…

The BOOSTA+ Program generally runs for 3-hours a day, 5 days a week (Monday through Friday) for 3 weeks. This program can be customised to suit your child and their individual needs; we are happy to discuss these options with you.

Each session consists of 50 mins Exercise Physiology, 50 mins Physiotherapy and 50 mins Magnesium Hydrotherapy. During any session, therapists may recommend the use of a range of equipment and techniques including:

  • Hopsadress and hoist mobility
  • Trampolines
  • Vibration Plates
  • Wet Vest Training Method
  • Treadmill Gait Training
  • Walkers, crawlers or Upsee

We are passionate about fuelling the body well for functional gains. Nutritional support can be offered to all families including a highly specialised service for kids who are tube fed a blended diet.

Parents are welcome at all times during BOOSTA+ program, but are not expected to attend the whole session each day with your child. Please always keep your mobile phone handy if not in attendance.

During the final week of BOOSTA+ Intensive, parents have a chance to receive personalised home programs or handover documents to continue the good work at home.

BOOSTA+ training is based on Neuro-Developmental principles so it can be very challenging neurologically, but both children and adults are engaged and having fun (but are really working quite hard!)

It is an intense 3 weeks (which it needs to be) in order to boost results! However, kids enjoy the challenges and our therapists will always be open to giving breaks as needed for a drink, snack or massage in between exercises.
